to the prop shaft as a backup in case the brush failed. This shows the new mounting nut. I got certified by the air force to do safety wiring around 1980 and never needed it (except for my dirt bikes) until I got CW. One of my vendors saw this photo and asked for a copy to illustrate how to safety wire it. It's out on the internet somewhere.
